Non-maintained luminaires
Illuminate only on failure of the normal supply. The usual choice for escape routes in buildings occupied during normal lighting conditions.
ADS Group designs, installs, tests and certifies commercial emergency lighting to I.S. 3217. That covers maintained and non-maintained luminaires, exit signage and central battery systems, with photometric design so escape routes, open areas and high-risk task areas receive the illumination the standard calls for.

Operate continuously and remain lit on supply failure. Used where the premises may be occupied in darkened conditions.
Illuminated directional and exit signage positioned so the route to a final exit is clear from every point on the escape route.
A central battery supplying luminaires across the building, with the battery and charger in one monitored location.
Luminaires that carry out and log their own function and duration tests, reducing manual testing effort and producing a consistent record across larger sites.
We record escape routes, final exits, stairwells, changes of level, high-risk task areas and open areas, and inspect any existing installation.
A lighting design is produced in accordance with I.S. 3217 so escape routes and open areas receive the illumination the standard requires.
Luminaires and signage are installed and wired, with works phased around occupation where required.
The system is commissioned, function and duration tested, and handed over with certification.
Routine function and duration testing is carried out under a maintenance agreement, with results recorded.
Servicing for this system can sit inside a single fire and security maintenance contract covering every system in the building.
More background on the Irish standards is set out in our fire safety compliance guide for Irish buildings.
