Student accommodation carries sleeping risk at scale
Purpose-built student housing puts hundreds of sleeping occupants in one structure, with cooking in every flat and a detection system that has to wake people without being so sensitive that it is disabled by the third false alarm of the week. Detector selection in kitchens and the cause and effect for a phased evacuation are the two items that decide whether that system works in practice. We test both, rather than testing the panel and leaving.
