High-bay storage defeats ceiling detection
In a high warehouse, smoke cools and spreads sideways before it ever reaches a ceiling detector, which is why a point detector at roof level can be effectively blind to a fire at floor level. Those buildings usually need beam or aspirating detection designed for the height. The second problem is that racking changes, and the detection design does not change with it.
